Please forgive the lack of updates recently. I have been away but have returned to find some goodies in my Inbox. Check out the captures by Brooke from the Behind the Scenes footage on the German 2-Disk special edition of Nero. And here's a picture of Hans as Lord Coward in "Sherlock Holmes"
Clash Of the Titans is now listed at IMDb, ans, as reported earlier, Hans plays the role of Ixas. Filming is presently underway in the Canary Islands and the all-star cast includes Ralph Fiennes, Liam Neeson, Mads Mikkelson, Gemma Arterton, Sam Worthngton, Danny Huston and Jason Flemyng. It looks like a March 2010 release.

April 1st, 2009
Big news of the week, and not an April Fools joke, is the news that Hans has been cast as Ixas in the upcoming movie, "Clash of the Titans" with Sam Worthngton and Gemma Arterton, amongst others. Few details are available at the moment but filming apparently starts this month in the Canary Islands.

There is a "new" article from a 1998 Empire Magazine about Still Crazy and a copy of an autographed poster recently available on Ebay to go with it. Thanks to Brooke, who also generously donated a larger version of a Mojo picture from The Face article

I've fixed the broken link to the Bathory gallery. Viewers across the Channel and those with satellite TV may be able to catch "Tess of the D'Urbervilles" when it screens on Belgian TV station EEN on Tuesday 17th March.

Hans' fans can support a good cause - finding a cure for Duchenne Disease by purchasing a copy of The Caledonian Kitchen in support of Action Duchenne. Hans is one of many Scottish celebrities who have contributed a recipe towards this book to raise funds to improve the lives of Duchenne sufferers. In keeping with his Isle of Lewis heritage, Hans has contributed a fish dish, though those of us who saw "Half Light" will be hoping it's not the one we saw being prepared there!

You can find all the details at The Caledonian Kitchen website

Thanks to Kenny Munro for all the information

All here at Hans Matheson Online would like to wish Happy Holiday, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all our visitors, supporters and especially to Hans and his family. It's certainly been an eventful year, what with The Tudors, Bathory and Tess of the D'Urbervilles. Things may be all doom and gloom on the economic front but we have Sherlock Holmes to look forward to in 2009, and hopefully there'll be more to come.

Lots of opportunities over the Christmas/New Year break to catch Hans on the small screen. ITV3 will screen encore presentations of Doctor Zhivago and The Story of the Costume Drama and Tubes Tales, Poldark and Still Crazy will also get outings - details on the left of the page.

This weekend sees the conclusion of both "Tess of the D'Urbervilles" and "The Tudors" on the BBC. The last two episodes of "The Tudors" show Hans at his best as he hears Anne Boleyn's last confession and shows his support at her execution.

A warm welcome to all our new visitors. We hope you will explore the site and go on to discover more of Hans' talent.

Hans as Alec D'Urberville Hans as Alec D'Urberville Hans as Alec D'Urberville

"Tess of the D'Urbervilles" debuted on Sunday night to strong ratings (audience of over 5 million) and generally good reviews . Negative opinion mostly centred on the predictable comparisons to the Polanski movie version, complaints that it's yet "another BBC costume drama" (that's problem??) and that everything was too pretty and clean. Well, since most of the action in episode one took place on the wealthy D'Urberville estate, that was the case. I doubt things will be so attractive at the dairy.

Thanks to Mariana at Gemma Arterton Online, we have some more scans and coming real soon, some screen caps.

September 14th, 2008
The big news, of course, is the premiere of "Tess Of The D'Urbervilles" on BBC 1 tonight at 9.00 pm. You can read more about the production at the BBC's website and in the following articles
